About Jester's Day Camp
Day camp is a great opportunity for girls to be active outdoors, make new friends, learn new skills and have a really good time while still being able to go home each night. The girls will be in units of 12-16 girls led by 2-3 adult volunteers. Each unit will also have 3-4 caddies. Caddies are junior high and high school age girls who have gone through specific training to be at camp. Overall, just remember that camp is designed to give your child a great experience in a completely safe and organized environment. She’ll have fun, and as a volunteer, you will have a great time as well. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Email Cindy at [email protected] if you have any questions.
Unit Mentors (Adult Volunteers)
Leadership progression is an important part of Jester's Day Camp and Unit Mentors are critical for leadership development in our older girls. As a Unit Mentor, you are there to facilitate the leadership opportunity for older girls. Without you we couldn’t run camp! Volunteering is a great way to spend time with your girl in a wonderful environment and, as an added bonus; every full-time volunteer is allowed 1 child to go for free. If you’ve been a unit mentor before, you remember how fun it was and we hope to see you again. If you’ve never been a mentor before, don’t worry! We will have a pre-camp conference call (schedule TBD) to answer your questions and get you excited for camp!
If you volunteer and have children too young to be in a unit, there is day care for $50 a week per child and if you have a son there is also a boys unit run by women (or men) with Boy Scout experience for $60 a week per boy. We try to make camp as easy on unit leaders as possible.
