Junior Caddie Program
Junior Caddies are girls going into 6th grade in the fall of 2020. This is your first opportunity to step up from being a camper. Getting started on your leadership path requires training, this program will help to transition you from a camper to a Caddie. This program designed to prepare you better for stepping into a leadership role. The focus is on training with some girl interaction. You will not be put in a unit for the week like a traditional Caddie.
How does the Junior Caddie program work?
It’s a combination of fun and training. You will be in a unit with other Junior Caddies for most of the time. The focus will be on doing camp activities while learning what your role as a Caddie will be. For instance, you will be on fire duty for lunch one of the days. Instead of simply lighting the cooking fire, you will be trained in different techniques for lighting and maintaining fire as well as how to teach younger girls on fires and fire safety. Same with other activities such as archery. You will learn to shoot, but you will also learn what your role will be when you take your unit to archery as a Caddie. We will focus on your skills and how you can help girls expand their skills. There will be many training and team building sessions throughout the week and we plan to get you certified in First Aid.
You will also be spending some time running stations on Wednesday at the beach and Thursday you will be helping units during the evening activities
Overnights
The entire camp will be staying overnight on Thursday. You are expected to stay as well. During the overnight you will be working with the girl units as they go through evening stations. There is no additional fee for the overnights.
Signing Up
You will need to register as a Junior Caddie and fill out a Behavior Contract, and Health Form. Please fill out all forms clearly. The fee for Junior Caddies is $215 for the week.
Additional Information
Additional info, such as packing lists, will be available closer to camp.
